Giving your Clothing and Textiles
Processing materials is the bulk of our operation. We process all clothing and textiles to supply both the Creative Reuse Space and Uptown Threads.
Drop-Off Location: Thread Up Creative Reuse Space. 5156 College Corner Pike, Oxford, Ohio.
Policy:
Volunteers will assist with sorting and weighing textiles upon arrival
A processing fee of $0.25 per pound must be paid at the time of drop-off
Many textiles can be dropped off for free, see the list below
We know that Thread Up Oxford is not always the answer. In the case that it’s not, please consider giving your textiles to one of our suggested organizations.

What happens to the textiles after drop-off?
Every donation is carefully processed to ensure maximum impact within our community. Here’s how it works:
Weighing & Tracking - upon arrival, all materials are weighed and recorded for tracking purposes.
Sorting & Evaluation - Volunteers carefully examine each textile item to determine the best way to use it:
Top Quality - Brand new or like-new items are:
Sold at our Uptown Threads thrift store to support our mission.
Provided to local service organizations to assist individuals in hardship situations.
Good Quality- Items with some wear or minor defects are:
Made available for free through our Freejects tables
Freejects tables are located inside of Thread Up Oxford Creative Reuse Space at 5156 College Corner Pike (Tuesday-Friday from 11:00-4:00).
Poor Quality - Items too damaged for reuse are:
Responsibly recycled through various partnerships
By following this process, we ensure that every item finds the best possible use – whether through reuse, repurposing or recycling. Thank you for supporting Thread Up Oxford and helping us reduce textile waste in our community!
